South Yorkshire Refugee Law and Justice is looking for passionate individuals to volunteer as either Legal Advice Volunteers or Office Volunteers to support our service providing legal advice and representation to asylum seekers across South Yorkshire.
Legal Advice Volunteers support our front-line service and legal casework. This may include tasks such as drafting chronologies of clients’ cases, updating our database, as well as legal research or initial meetings with clients to introduce them to our service. Office Volunteers support our organisational administration. This is a newly created role and we are particularly interested in volunteers with enthusiasm for Communications and/or Fundraising who may be able to assist with social media output and supporting fundraising activities. Alongside asking for these commitments we understand that our volunteers balance various priorities in their lives. As such we adopt a flexible and understanding approach to instances where our volunteers need time off or adjusted circumstances.
